[For The Boys album cover]

FOR THE BOYS
Music From The Motion Picture

A great soundtrack from the perfect Midler vehicle. Though it was pannned by critics, Bette was ultimately redeemed with another Academy Award nomination. She was great in the film and this recording captures all the wonderful songs.

Standout tracks - Stuff Like That There, In My Life, Every Road Leads Back To You

1. Billy-A-Dick**
A song by Hoagy Carmichael and Paul Francis Webster. A great top of the cd and movie cooker.

2. Stuff Like That There
This song was originally sung by Betty Hutton. I love this version also and the outfit Bette wears while singing it.

3. P.S. I Love You

4. The Girl Friend Of The Whirling Dervish*

5. I Remember You/Dixie's Dream

6. Baby It's Cold Outside
This is a duet between Bette and James Caan.

7. Dreamland

8. Vickie And Mr. Valves***
An instrumental number for the blonde, Vickie, to dance to.

9. For All We Know

10. Come Rain Or Come Shine

11. In My Life**
Bette's cover of this Beatles classic was the second single from the album, reaching the Top 60.

12. I Remember You
This is also a duet between Bette and James Caan.<

13. Every Road Leads Back To You****
This ballad, a knock-off of From A Distance, is still a good song. Written by Diane Warren (who also wrote Moonlight Dancing), it also peaked in the Top 60.
