ABBA 1970-1982

Although there are a lot of cuts which are now commercially available, the addition of the longer version of Lovelight makes this a must have. And it is nice to have all these extraneous B-sides and foreign language recordings together on one cd. The sound quality is good.

Standout tracks - Inga Theme, Lovelight, Honey Honey (Swedish version)

1. Inga Theme - Björn and Benny (2:28)
This instrumental cut was recorded in 1969 for the film Inga II. According to Carl Magnus Palm, author ofThe Complete Recording Sessions, this film is "a soft porn movie with a wafer-thin plot...(whose) sole interest lies in the fact that it features a few Andersson/Ulvaeus compositions." The song is pleasant enough but leaves me wanting more.

2. Santa Rosa - Björn and Benny, Agnetha and Anni-frid (3:00)
I love this song which was ultimately released as the B-side of He Is Your Brother. The sound quality is better though on the commercially available Thank You For The Music.

3. Åh, Vilker Tider - Björn and Benny, Agnetha and Anni-frid (2:31)
With backing vocals by Agnetha and Frida, this song was ultimately released as the B-side of the Swedish version of Ring Ring. It is now commercially available on Pa Svenska.

4. Merry-Go-Round - Björn and Benny, Agnetha and Anni-frid (3:21)
This is the finished version of the single from 1972 now commercially available Thank You For The Music.

5. Ring Ring (earlier version) (3:04)
I am so confused by the amount of versions of this song that you can figure it out and let me know..

6. Honey Honey (Swedish version) (2:57)
This is the Swedish version of the single, recorded in 1974 and released as the B-side of the Swedish Waterloo.

7. Waterloo (German version) (2:39)
This German version of the hit is also available on the bootleg THE ARCHIVES and DREAM ON TOO.

8. Crazy World (3:45)
Recorded in 1974 and released as the B-side of Money, Money, Money, this is now commercially available Thank You For The Music.

9. Lovelight (3:45)
Notice the time? This is THE FIND of this cd. Released as the B-side of Chiquitita at 3:18, this cut has an extra 27 seconds of introduction not included on Thank You For The Music. I was floored when I heard it. As with Summer Night City, this extra intro makes the song 100 times better for me. It is now complete. (FYI, after writing this review I managed to snag a copy of The Love Songs, a digitally remastered, commercially-released compilation from 1989. It too contains this longer version of Lovelight.)

10. Elaine (3:39)
Recorded in 1980 and released as the B-side of The Winner Takes It All, this is now commercially available Thank You For The Music.

11. Andante, Andante (4:34)
This is the Spanish version of Andante, Andante, now commercially available on Mas Oro.

12. Felicidad (4:20)
This is the Spanish version of Happy New Year, now commercially available on Mas Oro.

13. Should I Laugh Or Cry (4:24)
Recorded in 1981 and released as the B-side of One Of Us, this is now commercially available Thank You For The Music.

14. No Hay A Quien Culpar (3:12)
This is the Spanish version of When All Is Said And Done, now commercially available on Mas Oro.

15. Se Me Esta Escapando (3:53)
This is the Spanish version of Slipping Through My Fingers, now commercially available on Mas Oro.

16. You Owe Me One (3:22)
Recorded in 1982 and released as the B-side of Under Attack, this is now commercially available Thank You For The Music.
